So it's been awhile

Where has the time gone?  Wow.  Ok well lately I've been thinking entryway...I already have a round driftwood mirror up, and I just picked up a pair of vintage turquoise blue lamps...now I need a simple console table and a fun runner to finalize all the key elements.  I love a bold rug on hardwood floors - kind of like this:

I love the color - navy blue is such a classic.  And in this pattern, it avoids any semblance of the nautical look.  And how great are those vibrant green chairs?  What an interesting compliment.

I also love this:

The black and white zig zag is such a great foundation to put literally any color.  And I've got to pick up one of those chinese procelain/ceramic stools.

I freaking love this chrome console table...this is a top choice for our entry way in my mind.

Ok, now I'm off to search for items that match this decor. 

Dining Room Chairs Supplement

So no one thinks I'm crazy...here is the effect I'm going for:

I need them.  Well, technically I have some, but I want new ones!  We have this really beautiful antique dining room table that came from Robert's family, and I really think a set of modern dining room chairs would give it some extra zip!  Of course, Robert wants heavy duty wood chairs, but when I moved in this technically wasn't one of his deal-breakers so I'm going with it.  :)  Ok, first option:

No judgment please, but these are the ones I really want (or something like it).  I showed Robert and he went bazerko and said they look like chairs from junior high lunch room.  Hah, I never really thought about that.  They kind of do!  But I still love them...looooove them.  He told me not to get them.  Ugh!  I shouldn't have even said anything.  Ok, so I'll keep looking and maybe I will find something else I like.  Second option:

 I've also been contemplating these clear chairs but something about them irks me.  I can't figure it out.  I love the modern effect but I think I would prefer white chairs.  Third choice:

What do y'all think about these Louis ghost chairs?  I kinda love them and kinda hate them.  I think they are a great effect but I'm not sure my house can pull them off.  I think they would look cheap.  Sucks!  Fourth choice:

 These are cute, they're white...I do like them.  And the price is incredible!  I could buy these chairs and still have $$$ in my pocket to splurge on something else!  (think: console table? new mirror? table runner?)

Anyway, clearly I have my work cut out for me.  Maybe I can convince Robert on the first choice because I want those!  I'm also interested to hear if anyone else has fun options.  

Upholstered Stools

Last Friday I left work a little early and went to Riverfront Blvd. - I had to see what all the fuss was about.  Well, I've officially found my new favorite shopping street.  Situated uncomfortably close to the Frank Crowley JAIL is a line of incredible antique shops.  My fave?  White Elephant.  LOVES!  While I was there obsessing over every single item, I met one of the antique dealers.  Her name is Kristen and her company is Gypsy Soul Interiors and everything she has is fabulous.  I saw some incredibly cute flamestitch/retro footstools in her booth that I went gaga for and basically spent all weekend imagining where I should put them in my house...fireplace? bed? under a console table?  Oh the possibilities!

Ok, so the moral of the story is I went and snagged these babies up during lunch and could not be happier.  Y'all I seriously recommend everyone going to check out her booth (as well as all the other new booths over at WE by young, hip designers) - one of a kind items that you will love and a price that you will love even more.  Plus, Kristen is so fun and nice that you will want to keep buying from her.  Here are some pics of the footstools:
